Sometimes as human beings we hallucinate (I use the word hallucinate for imagine) that giving up a bad habit like smoking can be extremely difficult. The reason I know is I hear all the many reasons (excuses) it could be difficult to quit smoking all the time. Using hypnosis and NLP I help people in my office in San Diego change their focus from how difficult it is to quit smoking and all the reasons they can’t stop to the benefits they’ll receive.

By focusing on the difficulties involved in quitting, a smoker can psyche actually themselves out. In order to actually quit smoking you need to change your focus. That’s what I’d like to help you do today, change your focus. Instead of focusing on how difficult quitting will be I want you to focus on the benefits of quitting you’ll receive.

Let’s take a look at the many benefits you’ll receive after quitting:

20 minutes after you quit smoking

Smoking dilates your blood vessels and capillaries. This generally results in an increase in blood pressure. High blood pressure is harmful to your heart and increases your risk of heart attack. But the minute you quit smoking your risk is reduced because your blood pressure level is reduced, often to normal levels.

During the next 10 hours after you quit smoking

The level of carbon monoxide in your body is reduced by half in the first 10 hours after you quit. Carbon monoxide is one of the major pollutants your lungs receive when smoking cigarettes. Not only does it produce ill health effects it also affects your cognitive skills.

While you can survive for almost a couple of months without food and four or five days without water, you can only survive a few minutes without oxygen. It is the most vital substance for your survival. Having high levels of carbon monoxide in your body decreases your lung’s intake of blood. This can give birth to serious health problems.

Another benefit you’ll receive a mere 10 hours after quitting is your energy levels will increase as the level of carbon monoxide in your system is reduced.

24 hours after you quit smoking

Once you have quit smoking for 24 hours you have accomplished something tremendous. You have actually quit smoking. This achievement will provide you with more willpower to complete your journey toward better health. You will also feel less fatigue after exercise and experience eased breathing and faster recovery times.

48 to 72 hours after you quit smoking

After the first 48 to 72 hours your body will start experiencing living without cigarettes very differently. By now the nicotine is nearly completely eliminated from your body. The side effects such as irritability, headache and stomachache that smoking withdrawal can cause will begin to subside. You will feel better both physically and mentally.

2 weeks after you quit smoking

Within 2 weeks after you quit smoking you will notice that your overall health will improve. All of the additives the tobacco companies put in cigarettes to make you more addicted will have been eliminated from your body.

Another benefit is your circulation will have begun to return to normal. This means your skin will start to look healthier and younger. You will also notice that other problems like slow healing, cold feet, trouble breathing and any symptoms of peripheral vascular disease (PVT) you may have been experiencing will diminish.

1 year after you quit smoking

The World Health organization states that smoking is the leading cause of death in the world today, According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) an estimated 443,000 deaths, or nearly 1 of every 5 deaths each year here in the United States alone, are due to cardiovascular diseases. Most of these deaths can be directly linked to smoking. When you quit smoking for only 1 year it cuts your risk of heart attack to half of what it was when you were smoking.

10 years after you quit smoking

After you’ve quit smoking for 10 years not only have you minimizing your danger of heart attack, you’ve also reduced your risk of lung cancer to by half. The CDC states that 80% of all lung cancer deaths in women and 90% of all lung cancer deaths in men can be directly related to smoking.

15 years after you quit smoking

After this much time has passed the person who once was chain smoker will lead the same healthy life as someone who had never smoked at all. All of the brief pain and agony you suffered while quitting has been repaid with a long, healthy and smoke free life.

Remember – focus on the benefits of quitting

Yes the first few days of after you quit smoking can be difficult if you focus on the negative aspects of quitting. But those difficulties will soon pass. When you focus on the positive aspects, remembering of all the good things, the benefits of quitting you’ll receive, you will be able to leave smoking behind you and enjoy a long and healthy life, with the people you love and who love you. Aren’t those benefits worth the little discomfort quitting might bring? You can quit smoking. Do it for life.

Are you a smoker? Would you like to stop? If you are a man think about this; one out of every six men in the United States dies because they smoke. But you knew that didn’t you? You understand that smoking is one of the major causes of preventable death. By smoking cigarettes you are increasing your chances of developing diseases that will lead to your premature death.

The reason I said you probably understand this is because I talk to a lot of people who want to quit smoking here in my office in San Diego. They already know that there are several major diseases related to smoking. These are diseases such as coronary heart disease, lung cancer, mouth cancer and severe problems regarding throat, bladder, kidney and pancreas. The problem with most of these diseases is they are so severe there are no treatments available for them. For example severe gangrene (that leads to loss of limbs) has been found in Diabetic patients, who smoke cigarettes regularly.

Since you already understand this don’t you think it’s time you stop smoking?

You Can Stop Smoking

If you believe you can quit smoking you can. Using hypnosis I have helped hundreds of people, just like you, stop smoking. Because I believe so strongly in helping people quit I write a lot of articles. Once a person responded to an article I wrote by telling me it’s easier to quit in San Diego than Saint Louis because we have stricter laws here. Now this was quite a few years ago and the laws may have been different then but I don’t believe this is true today. But even if it was, it doesn’t matter if you are inNew York or San Diego you can stop smoking if you want, no matter how much you smoke now.

Using hypnosis I have helped many chain smokers quit smoking. I’ll tell you the same thing I tell them, to stop smoking you need desire and determination, that’s it. Then it’s just a matter of finding the right method to help you quit. Once you accomplish your goal and become a non-smoker you will be amazed at how much better you will feel. You will be so proud of yourself and your family will be proud of you too!

Some Simple Ways to Help You Stop Smoking

When it comes to quitting (just like with anything else) there are a few rules you need to follow to get the results you want (to stop smoking permanently).

First, you need to make a decision to stop smoking. Once you have decided to quit, make a solid commitment by picking a date. That’s the day you promise yourself that you will never touch a cigarette again.

As the date for quitting is approaching, try to minimize your intake of cigarettes and the triggers that cause you to think of smoking.

How to Stop the Triggers

As a smoker, smoking is a big part of your day. It coincides with many daily activities and routines that you will still have to do even after you have committed to quitting. These are known as triggers. What you’ll find is, especially in the beginning, you will need to approach these activities and tasks differently, either in a different way or at a different time of the day. This can help you resist the urge to smoke.

Stop Smoking Benefits

Did you know that once you quit smoking and the volume of carbon monoxide in your blood is reduced your skin will turn a healthy shade and begin to glow again? Did you know your heartbeat will return to normal, your lungs will become clearer and your risk to heart attack will decrease gradually every day? These are great reasons to quit smoking!

Finding your reasons to quit smoking is one of the best ways to help yourself stop smoking permanently. This will help you concentrate on the advantages of quitting. Constantly remind yourself that quitting has many more advantages than smoking, and most of them involve your health.

Put up some reminders that reminds you that when you finally quit smoking then there will be much less chance that you will develop heart disease, cancer and other deadly diseases. Good reminders can be graphic photos of the affects of smoking on the lungs or heart. If you want to keep it positive, remember that when you stop smoking you will feel better, have more energy and you will also have more resistance to persistent coughs, cold and flu.

Stop Smoking and Save Money

One of the benefits you’ll receive when you quit smoking is you’ll have more money to spend. With the high cost of cigarettes there is no doubt that you will save money when you stop smoking. Why not put all the money you spend on your cigarettes in a glass jar for a month so you can see your savings. Then you can take yourself out for a shopping spree, or a movie or even a mini vacation.

Smoking Withdrawal

After you stop smoking, in the early phases, nicotine withdrawal will show its effects. Some people experience symptoms such as headache, irritation and coughing.

Believe it or not these are all positive signs. The headache is a sign that the nicotine is leaving your body as well as the irritation. As for the coughing, it is your lungs getting rid of all that junk smoking built up in them over the years.

One method to help you avoid some of the symptoms of withdrawal is to drink plenty of water. This will keep your hands and mouth busy. Also remember that the urge to smoke will go away in 5 to 10 minutes whether you smoke or not. Sometimes you just have to tough it out!

You may also feel a sense of anxiousness. During this time stay away form caffeinated drinks. If you do feel anxious take a few deep breaths and then go for walk. And don’t forget to get some form of physical activity every day to help ease the effects of withdraw.

There are some drugs that have been shown to reduce cravings. For instance, Nicotine gum, Bupropion, Nicotine inhaler and Nicotine nasal spray. These drugs can be helpful when you are trying to stop smoking but, they do not come without possible side affects and should not be taken without the advice of your Doctor.

While it might seem impossible at times for you to resist the temptation, when you are having a bad day, practice the techniques we’ve talked about to divert your mind and keep yourself busy!

Putting These Ways to Stop Smoking to Use

Now that you know how to stop smoking it’s time to put them to use. As your days of being a non-smoker build up, remember to reward yourself for your achievements. You can stop smoking if you focus on your reasons to quit. Get your reasons straight, have faith in yourself and you will be able to stop smoking permanently. Do it for life!

If you want more information about how to stop smoking and the different methods you can use then download the report “Quit Smoking Secrets the Tobacco Companies Don’t Want you to Know”. This report provides you with the in depth knowledge you need to quit smoking permanently. Just follow this link to receive your complimentary copy.

Do you smoke cigarettes? Would you like to quit smoking? People call me all the time and tell me “I want to quit smoking”. That’s because I help people quit smoking using hypnosis. In fact, in my office here in San Diego I have talked with hundreds, if not thousands of people who want to quit. While to some people when they want to quit smoking just understanding the facts about how smoking affects their health can make a big difference, most people need a method or plan to help them quit.

You see a lot of people say that they wish they could quit smoking. But quitting it is not quite as easy as making a simple wish. The good news is it is possible to quit smoking, if you have the desire and a plan. Today we’re going to talk about some of the facts about smoking and tips you can use to quit permanently.

Quit Smoking Tip Number 1 – Decide to Quit!

When clients come to my office and tell me they want to quit smoking, the biggest tip I have for them is you need to make the decision to quit. Once you make the decision (notice I said decision, not the wish) then you have already won half of the battle. Using the quit smoking tips in this article people who make the decision can quit.

Quit Smoking Tip Number 2 – Cut Down on Your Daily Cigarette Consumption

For some people cutting down on the cigarettes they smoke daily can help them quit. For most people this is one or two cigarettes a day until they get to zero. Now I want to tell you in advance that this method does not work for most people. But I have interviewed hundreds of smokers who have quit smoking and this does work for some. What they told me is thinking about the facts of how smoking is eating up their body and then focusing on the reasons they wanted to quit helped them quit. This might also work for you.

If you use this method you need to regularly remind yourself that when you quit smoking you are going to feel better. You’ll also increase your lifespan. Even better, think about how happy your friend and family will be when you quit.

Quit Smoking Tip Number 3 – Think About the $ You’ll Save

When people try to quit smoking they often add up all the money they save when they quit. This can be a big motivator for some people. Here’s an easy way to calculate your savings:

A) How many packs do you cigarettes do you smoke per day? _____

B) How much does a pack cost? ______

C) How much do you spend on cigarettes per day? A x B = ____

D) Monthly cost of cigarettes = C x 30 (days per month) = ____

E) Yearly cost of cigarettes = C x 365 (days per year) = _____

Example: Let’s say you smoke a pack a day and each pack costs $5

A) = 1 pack B) = $5 A x B = C) = $5 a day

D) Monthly cost = C) $5 x 30 days = $150 a month

E) Yearly cost = C) $5 x 365 days = $1,800 a year

That’s how much you will save when you quit smoking, $1,800 a year! When you are feeling the urge to smoke dream about how you are going to spend it.

Quit Smoking Tip Number 4 – Keep in Mind the Urge Will Pass and Use Exercise to Keep You on Track

For most people, when they quit smoking they go through physical as well as psychological withdrawal. Here are some tips to help you through this.

When the urge comes don’t panic. One thing to remember is that all smoking urges will stop within 5 to 10 minutes no matter if you smoke a cigarette or not. At first you may find yourself behaving illogically and find that you will be restless and irritable. This can make you lash out at the ones you love. If this happens to you try taking a deep breath and remember that your friends and family are there to help you out. They want you to succeed. Ask them to be patient with you and to give you their support.

Exercises

Use these exercises to help you get over the physiological and psychological urges. These exercises are designed to help you get the nicotine out of your system while getting your mind off cigarettes by allowing you to relieve tension. This will help you to stay on track.

Exercise number 1 - When the urge hits go for a walk. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel after you take a short stroll and taking in some fresh air. Don’t try to take on too much in the beginning stages because this may make you feel fatigued.

Remember: Be sure that you talk to your doctor before beginning any exercise routine.

Exercise number 2 – Use deep breathing to get over the urge. Not only will it get lots of fresh air into your lungs deep breathing is a great reliever as well. When the urge hits try deep breathing for 3 to 5 minutes. As you do you can use a technique used in hypnotherapy, picturing yourself refusing a cigarette. As you do remember how proud you are for making the decision to quit smoking.

Quit Smoking Tip Number 5 – Find a Quit Smoking Partner

People like to do things together. When you want to quit smoking there is no difference. Search for a friend who wants to quit smoking to quit with you. This way you can hold each other accountable and motivate each other.

Quit Smoking Tip Number 6 – Think of How Good You’ll Smell

Think about how much better you will smell. When people quit smoking one of the first things they notice is how bad smokers smell. Allow yourself to experience the pride in having clean teeth and fresh breath along with clothes that smell fresh. This just isn’t possible with your smoking habit.

Quit Smoking Tip Number 7 – Drink Lots of Water

Water is extremely useful when you quit smoking. So as you quit make sure that you drink plenty of water every day. In addition to helping you keep your mind off smoking by giving you a substitute for bringing something to your mouth (your oral fixation), it will also help to flush all harmful chemicals out of your body.

Do You Really Want to Quit Smoking?

Like I said earlier I get calls all the time from smokers that say “I want to quit smoking”. What you need to remember is you need more than to want to quit smoking you need to decide to quit.

Once you decide you can use some of the quit smoking tips listed in this article to start you on your journey to quit smoking for good. After you quit reward yourself over the passage of time. For example, after you have been a nonsmoker for two weeks, go see a movie. After quitting for one month go to your favorite restaurant or take a vacation for a day with the money you’ve saved.

Above all when it comes to quitting remember it’s a process. You may have good days as well as bad days. The most important thing to remember is to never give up until you have quit smoking permanently. Do it for life!If you are interested in more about the methods used to quit smoking then download the complimentary report “Quit Smoking Secrets the Tobacco Companies Don’t Want You to Know”.

One of the reasons many people hesitate when they to try to quit smoking is they think that smoking can help them stay thin. They also think that as soon as they stop they’re going to balloon up and gain 20 pounds overnight.

Maybe you are like this. Maybe you think that as soon as you quit smoking you’re going to gain a lot of weight and that’s your excuse not to try. Well today I hope to give you information that will help you make a better decision about quitting.

While it’s true that the average person gains a few pounds (about 10), some of that weight really isn’t bad. In fact, since smoking dehydrates you there is a very good chance you’ll put on a 2 or 3 pounds of water weight. This is a good thing because it will help your skin look younger and not so dried out.

Some people, and maybe you are one of them, worry that they’ll put on a lot more than just 2 or 3 pounds of water weight. They are concerned that they’ll start overeating to compensate for giving up smoking. While this can happen, it doesn’t have to happen to you.

Before you go on I want you to know that I’ve talked and helped many people just like you. Over the years I’ve helped hundreds of people, just like you, quit smoking using NLP and hypnosis in my office in San Diego. I have also helped them quit without gaining a lot of weight. How? By using two basic ideas. The first, giving them a post hypnotic suggestion. The second, giving them a plan to follow.

Today I’m going to give you that plan. This plan contains some simple strategies that can help you replace your smoking habit with more positive habits than overeating. These strategies can help you overcome the two main challenges a smoker experiences when they quit. Those are the oral cravings a smoker has (the need to bring something to your mouth) and a slightly slower metabolism. In this article we’ll talk about oral cravings. I’ll also provide you with a link to another article that can help you slightly increase your metabolism at the end of this one.

5 tips to help you resist the urge to overeat after you quit smoking

1. Drink water – lots of it

When you want to quit smoking water actually helps you a couple of ways. First it helps you overcome the oral craving (bringing something to your mouth). Second it hydrates you while cleansing your system. An additional plus is it’s free of calories and suppresses your appetite naturally. An easy way to create this habit is by keeping a water bottle on your desk and carrying along one with you wherever you go.

2. Chew sugar free gum

Sugar free gum is great for overcoming the oral craving. The chewing action acts as a natural substitute for cigarettes and helps you quit. It’s also good for your teeth because it stimulates saliva, which breaks down the bacteria in your mouth. One added plus is chewing sugar free gum is a lot less expensive than smoking.

3. Chew your food

Chew your food completely and slowly. Put your fork or spoon down between bites. When you eat quickly your stomach doesn’t understand its full long until long after you are done eating. When you take the time to chew your food your stomach has the time it needs to understand that it’s full. In addition to helping you reduce the amount of food you eat, chewing your food improves your digestion.

4. Use distractions other than food

You may not know this but it only takes 3 days for the nicotine to be out of your body and about 14 days for all the rest of the additives to be gone. This means that even if your cravings are intense, the hardest part will be behind you within a couple of weeks.

Also, your cravings will go away all by themselves in 5 to 10 minutes, whether you smoke a cigarette or not. To get though this time you need to distract yourself. An easy way to take your mind off your discomfort is by taking a walk in a mall or other non smoking area, playing with your kids or going to a movie. That leads us to number 5.

5. Reward yourself with something else besides food.

The average amount a one-pack-a-day smoker will save is about $150 a month ($5 x 30 days). The great news is you can use that money any way you want. You can use it on movie tickets or a concert or even a vacation. As you quit smoking, focus on the things you can now purchase using the money you are saving.

Helpful tips to quit smoking

1. Remember the reasons you want to quit smoking. Once you understand the why it’s a lot easier to quit. Then take pleasure in what a great thing you’re doing for yourself and your loved ones.

2. Make changes to support your decision to quit smoking. In order to reinforce your decision and to help prevent you from gaining weight, start a regular exercise program prior to giving up tobacco. You can also start a healthy eating program. This can help your mind focus on maintaining healthy habits rather than smoking or overeating.

3. Understand your triggers and take the action you need to avoid them. Everyone who has ever smoked has triggers, events or people that make them think about smoking. Make a list of your triggers. Once you know your individual triggers, you can avoid them. For example, if your trigger is smoking after eating dinner, take a walk instead.

Remember, you can quit smoking

You have the ability to quit smoking. If you need help, get help. When people come to me to help them stop smoking with hypnosis and NLP I always remind them that any change starts with a decision. So make the decision to quit. Once you do you’re on your way to better heath and a longer life.

Smoking is bad for your health. You probably already know that. Just recently, studies conducted by the American Medical Association, the American Lung and Heart Associations and the American Cancer Society, found, once again, that cigarette smoking is one of the chief causes of premature death in the U.S.. The fact is that when you smoke you are basically slowly poisoning yourself to death.

I’ve been using hypnotism and NLP techniques professionally to help people stop smoking here in San Diego for nearly a decade. One of the biggest reasons I offer this service to people is because of the health risks it causes. I have seen the affects cigarette smoking has on a smoker and the people around them.

Health Reasons to Quit Smoking

Look, I realize that there are many reasons to choose from to quit smoking. One is health and not just yours. You see, studies show that smoking doesn’t merely destroy your health it also greatly impacts the health of the people close to you. These are people like your family and friends. Cigarette smoke is especially hard on your children because their organs are young and still developing.

If yours and your family’s health weren’t enough reasons to quit smoking, the World Health Organization states that cigarette smoking is the number one cause of preventable death in the world today. It is the cause of nearly one in every five deaths in the United States alone. For nearly 20 years, studies have found that, in theU.S., cigarette smoking has caused the deaths of over 400,000 individuals every year. It has been directly linked to lung cancer, cardiovascular diseases and persistent airway impediments.

Studies show that, on average, both adult males and females who smoke lose around 13 to14 years of their life expectancy. What that means is since life expectancy in the U.S.is around 75 a smoker will die at 60. With the number of teenagers who take up smoking every year this equates to approximately 6.4 million teenagers who have started smoking will lose their lives prematurely to cigarette smoke in the future.

The Benefits of Quitting Smoking

Why is all of this important? It’s because in order to quit smoking you have to have reasons to quit and one of the biggest reasons should be that cigarette smoking is slowly killing you. Not only is it killing you it is also killing the people close to you, you significant other, your friends, your kids. For many people just understanding the dangers is one of the best motivators to stop.

How Can I Quit Smoking?

When people call or e-mail me to inquire how hypnotism and NLP can help them stop smoking I always ask them a number of questions to make sure that they’re serious about quitting. Why? Because no matter what you use to help you quit you need to understand the reasons why you want to quit. You see if you really want to quit smoking you must be prepared to be completely honest with yourself about the dangers associated with smoking and the reasons you want to quit. Even if you have good reasons and a good method, when you decide to be done with smoking you need to be ready to experience good and bad days. You also have to keep in mind that it may take you several tries before you are successful.

Tips to Quit Smoking

The reason that hypnotism and NLP are so successful at helping people stop smoking is because it addresses the psychological issues that are connected with smoking. You see, smoking is more of a psychological addiction than an actual physical addiction. The Nicotine addiction or craving you have can be controlled and you are over it within a few days, but it’s the mental triggers that are difficult to get over. These are things like reaching for a cup of coffee and a cigarette or eating and then smoking. To help you quit permanently one of the best things you can do is a complete personal analysis.

First, take a piece of paper and draw a line to make two columns on it. At the top of the first column put “Reasons for quitting smoking”. At the top of the other column write “Reasons I started smoking”.

Now write down the reasons you first took up smoking. It might have been some kind of peer pressure from your friends, a family trouble, or even financial problems. It doesn’t matter what it is, just write it down. Now, ask yourself, “Do these problems still exist?” If they don’t, then you just proved to yourself that you don’t “need” to smoke.

Next, write down the all the reasons to you want to quit smoking. Maybe it’s because of the threat of a fatal illnesses or maybe your concern of causing harm to your loved ones. Maybe you’re experiencing breathlessness while climbing stairs. Your feet may be cold due to the affects of your high blood pressure. You may be suffering from a persistent cough that makes you feel uncomfortable and restless. If any of these are the case then health and well being will be one of the biggest reasons that you want to quit.

On the other hand, if you are like many people, it is possible that health reasons alone can not convince you that you need to quit smoking. After all there is no way to be sure that you or your family will develop lung cancer or breathing problems as a result of you smoking. We have all heard of the old grandmother or grandfather who is 95 years old and have smoked all of their lives, right?

So you need to include other reasons that will help you to decide to quit smoking. There are reasons such as, the wrinkles it causes around your eyes and especially your mouth. Maybe it’s the premature aging and drying of skin due to the lack of circulation that smoking causes. Perhaps your reasons are the bad breath, your fingernails and teeth being yellow and stained due to smoke. Maybe it’s how the smell gets into your hair, your clothes, and your home and even into your car. It’s that smell that tells everyone you smoke no matter how hard you try to cover it up. Perhaps it’s the looks you get from other people when you smoke in public places. These are all great reasons to want to quit smoking.

Have You Thought About How Much Smoking Costs?

For most people a big reason they want to quit smoking is the cost. Have you ever calculated how much money you are spending on cigarettes, air fresheners and breath mints? How much you can save by quitting? For the average one pack a day smoker it would be around $150 a month or about $1,800 a year. Thank about it, what would you do with the $1,800?

Is Your Family One of the biggest Reasons You Want to Quit Smoking?

Think about your family. How will they feel when you quit smoking? Think of the kind of example you are going to set for them, especially your kids. How about your home? Think about how fresh and clean it will be, no dirty, yellow walls, no smelly furniture. How about your friends, what will they think after you stop smoking? After you quit you won’t have to hide your bad habit from them anymore. All of these are great reasons to focus on to quit smoking for good.

Go Through This Exercise Today!

Look if you really want to quit then write down your reasons you want to quit smoking today. By focusing your mind on all the good things that will take place you’ll take the first step needed to kick the habit once and for all. If you need more help then download my complimentary report “8 Quit Smoking Secrets the Tobacco Companies Don’t Want You to Know” along with the 3 bonuses.

The New Year is a great time to stop smoking. When people decide to give it up, timing seems to be a recurring issue. Now there are lot’s of reasons not to stop, you’ve got a new project at work, you’re stressed out, you’ll be attending a new school or going to training – the list goes on and on. There’s always some excuse why it isn’t a good time to quit smoking. That’s what this article is all about. It will give you some excellent tips to help you stop smoking no matter the excuse.

Exploring Some Excellent Ways To Quit Smoking

Although you might be sincere in your desire to quit smoking, sometimes it’s easier to justify why it’s not the time to do so and simply put the idea aside. The end-result: you delay quitting for a more opportune time. But even though there is never an opportune time (and you know this) the rationalization works and you buy into it.

When attempting to quit, a big challenge is keeping your mind – and body – occupied. You need to distract your mind and hands to keep them from looking for cigarettes. Doing some housework or taking a walk is good, anything that keeps your mind off of having a smoke.

Smoking Triggers

You, like smokers everywhere, have your set of triggers. It’s like flipping a switch so your subconscious mind returns your conscious mind to thoughts of smoking. For many it’s coffee, post-meal smokes, or tasks requiring concentration. These represent the more common stuff that seems to push smokers to light one up. An effective method that can help you to quit smoking requires you have and awareness of your personal smoking triggers.

At the beginning of the there are many various tasks. There’s taking down the decorations, sending thank you cards, shopping for New Year discounts, straightening up the house and more. All these have one thing in common: your mind and hands are constantly occupied. As a result, you don’t think about smoking, usually not even once. This is why the New Year is an ideal time to kick the habit.

Psychological Stop Smoking Techniques

Look, everyone who has smoked knows that giving up smoking isn’t as easy as “mind over matter.” You can improve your odds of success by using a number of different psychological distractions to get you started. If a steaming cup of coffee is the usual accompaniment to your morning cigarette, choose another drink like a smoothie, tea or a glass of orange juice. Remember: modifying your daily routine is mission crucial to helping your quit. As for the cigarette you have right after eating, do something else after meals. In the evening get out a board game or get your kids or significant other to play chess, cards or checkers with you. Prepare the game table and serve beverages that don’t belong to your list of triggers. Not only will is this an excellent method to quit smoking, it will also help you get closer to the ones you love.

Right after cleaning the house, have a nice relaxing bubble bath while reading a book or magazine. You can use herbal or bubble bath sachets to help you unwind. It also reminds you that such scents smell better than a lit cigarette or you after smoking one.

3 Days Can be All it Takes

Keeping your mind and body occupied will allow you no chance to think about smoking. Once you have begun your quest to quit smoking, stay busy. Cram non-stop tasks into the first few weeks. Realize that the worst happens during the first three days. If you’re able to survive without a smoke for that period, you’re at least free of the nicotine. You’ll breath easier, sleep better and think about smoking less and less. Three weeks later, you’re considered clean.

Stop Smoking for Good Using NLP and Hypnosis

For those having a hard time trying to stop smoking, hypnosis and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) may help. NLP and hypnosis sessions with trained professionals are considered to be one of the best ways to stop smoking. In fact, independent research even recognizes hypnosis as the best method to quit smoking along with NLP.

Most people smoke because it’s pleasurable. That’s obvious because if it did nothing for smokers, they wouldn’t continue it, they’d just stop smoking. However, while there are temporary benefits to smoking cigarettes, the harmful effects are just as real. The drawbacks can get so serious, they can be permanent. That’s why doctors encourage people to stop smoking and why there are a lot of therapy options available. The good news is if you truly want to quit smoking, it’s very doable.

The Many Ways To Quit Smoking

A number of factors can push people to smoke. When smokers start smoking every one of them experiences peer pressure. Smokers also experience stress plus lots of other psychological issues from time to time. Rather than deal with problems in a healthier fashion, most smokers find it’s easier to simply resort to toxic chemicals. However, this can and often does mean severe long-term consequences.

Of the lung cancer cases, an estimated 87 percent result from heavy, prolonged smoking. Stroke risk for smokers is around two to four times higher than for non-smokers. Similar statistics were revealed for coronary heart disease. The numbers for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPD) like asthma, emphysema and chronic bronchitis are also just as scary. Some 80 to 90 percent of COPD cases comprise smokers.

Today, research studies correlating smoking with adverse health impacts total thousands. Although the findings are still somewhat inconclusive, and the exact connections and causes between smoking and cancer or stroke have yet to be solidified, recent correlations are astonishing.

For example, there’s a relationship between fatty deposit accumulation in the arteries and smoking. It’s likewise easy to see the effects of tar buildup in the alveoli on the condition of the lungs. No further scientific research is required to know that reduced energy, hacking and other ill-effects are not a good sign.

Cigarette smoke has been discovered to be loaded with dozens of carcinogenic compounds, ranging from plain tar to nitrosamines and benzene. The carbon monoxide in the smoke attaches to hemoglobin, depriving blood of vital oxygen.

Kicking the habit is never easy, but there are several valid ways to quit smoking. On the average, only around six percent achieve permanent smoking cessation success on attempt number one. Some have to undergo multiple tries before finally getting rid of the habit.

Long-term decisions, especially when it comes to health call for tremendous willpower. If your mental drive isn’t enough, you can turn to NLP and/or hypnosis for reinforcements. With this method, you attend sessions with trained professional practitioners or you can undergo cognitive stop smoking therapy with mental health specialists.

Your stop smoking therapy can also be aided by various related products that are in the market like patches, inhalers and nicotine gum. There are also the non-nicotine alternatives, including anti-depressants Zyban and a new drug called Chantix.

Stopping smoking can give rise to many things, which can be quite frustrating. Once you quit, there’s the risk of gaining weight. Of course, there will be the inevitable cravings and smoking withdrawal. However, the long-term upsides of quitting are considerable and immediate.

For those who’ve conquered smoking and are now certified non-smokers, it will take several years before your heart disease and stroke risks go down. Skin regeneration also happens and eventually, its normal condition is restored and your skin will look younger. There is also an increase in your overall energy that improves your mind’s and body’s ability to handle everyday life challenges. Wouldn’t you like to savor such advantages? You can if you want to. Choose to stop smoking now.

Smoking isn’t healthy. This isn’t news to smokers everywhere. The thing is, smoking relaxes people and makes them feel good, which is why quitting it is super tough. Even the knowledge that the habit is bad for the body and cuts years from their lifespan does not stop people from lighting one up. You therefore have to have a quit smoking plan, if you’re ever to be completely smoke-free.

You Got To Have A Stop Smoking Plan

You can choose from many different ways to quit smoking. The thing to remember is that different methods seem to work better for different people. When deciding on your stop smoking plan, you have to take into consideration your lifestyle. The program has to fit into your life correctly for it to be able to work for you.

There are a lot of excellent stop smoking therapy programs out there. One involves taking a pill for a specific timeframe, like weeks or several days after specifying a date for quitting. Having the pill inside your body makes smoking cessation for that day easier. The problem is that without the pill, there is double the difficulty to give up smoking. Many have used this method as part of their quit smoking plan. Since it was successful for them, they recommend its use to others struggling with cigarette addiction.

Part of your quit smoking plan can also involve using gum or some patches. When people kick the habit, they lose the nicotine they normally get through smoking. The patches and gum supply the nicotine that was lost from not smoking anymore.

While the act of puffing on a cigarette represents part of the overall addiction, giving up the nicotine is what some smokers have the most difficulty with. It’s the body’s craving for it that makes a person want to smoke. Gradual weaning from the nicotine via your stop smoking therapy affords better odds of your success. Although quitting cold turkey is decidedly the cheapest and appears to be the easiest route to take, it seldom is. Stopping smoking minus the nicotine replacements can be extremely hard.

There is also the combination NLP and hypnosis for those who have not had success with other methods to quit smoking. While it sounds pretty unconventional, it has proven effective for many people. It works on the subconscious and can deliver lasting results. After going through a NLP or hypnosis session, when a smoker gets a whiff or catches sight of cigarettes, suddenly it no longer holds appeal for them. In fact it is disgusting to many of them. This prevents them from wanting to pick up a cigarette. All of these are thanks to the power of suggestion that NLP and hypnosis employs. For the right people, this can be a potent solution against smoking.

As with any stop smoking plan, a crucial ingredient is your support system. This includes people who will give sound advice when you need it. In some states, there are quit help lines that provide you with service and assistance. Family and friends are also excellent sources of support, especially during times when it’s all you can do not to smoke. These people will do everything in their power to help you live a quality life. It’s important to have people you can rely on around you when you embark on whatever quit smoking therapy you decide on.

Sometimes, even having a valid reason to want to quit smoking isn’t enough to successfully kick the habit. These guys are desperate to quit, but have trouble doing so permanently. Many smokers turn to people who are NLP practitioners and hypnosis experts for solutions.

Quit Smoking Information And More

People who struggle to quit often say they’re aware smoking is unhealthy, and yet are unable to stop. The trick is to know why you want to quit and focus on it. This is the only way to really get rid of the cigarette addiction. It also helps to have quit smoking information handy so you’re able to appreciate the upsides of quitting smoking more.

Smoking takes its toll on the entire body. It affects various systems. Unfortunately, a lot of smokers don’t see it. With smoking cessation comes the rapid return of normal functioning to the body. You soon look and feel healthier.

Following giving up smoking, the lungs begin the healing process. Cigarettes are loaded with tar; even those claiming to be low on the substance still contain lots of it. This sticky substance also coats your lungs. In exhaling, the smoke goes back out, but the tar stays inside lung tissues. Quitting smoking will clear out the tar buildup. This largely explains why smokers who quit cough excessively after quitting.

The body is dealing with the nasty tar that has now been loosened up from the inner lining of the lungs. A number of studies say the lungs will return to normal or at least close to it, within several years following quitting. Keep in mind, the damage done by the cigarette addiction is irreversible. This means, even if you stop, don’t expect your lungs to return 100-percent to its original condition BUT they can clear up.

Other stuff happens after you stop smoking. Quitting smoking improves blood circulation, which is good since it reduces the risk for stroke or heart attack. Those with family histories of such diseases will find this welcome news.

Smoking dulls the taste buds. It deadens the taste buds so once you stop, your mouth is sure to undergo a flavor explosion with each bite. After you quit, food will start tasting good again. Eating will once more be a gastronomic adventure. However, don’t take it as an invitation to go overeat. Some people who give up smoking end up gaining considerable weight. That’s a big reason people who want to quit smoking use NLP and hypnosis. It has been shown to help people quit without substituting the smoking habit for overeating.

In the past, your smoking habit called the shots. Once you beat it, you’ll feel a whole lot better about who you are. Hey, you fought the addiction and won. Be proud of your achievement.

While watching smokers around you, you start wondering what others thought of you when you were still a smoker. People who smoke smell like it, but seem to be oblivious to it. Smoke-free individuals meanwhile, are all too aware of the stench.

Just as your taste buds have been reawakened, your sense of smell will also be aroused, allowing you to appreciate new aromas. There will also be fewer sinus issues and colds experienced after you quit smoking.

The end-result of kicking the habit is improved health. There’s also looking, feeling and smelling better to look forward to. These are the perks of quitting smoking that should encourage you to stick with the plan and become cigarette-free forever. Make up your mind now and start searching for ways, such as NLP and hypnosis to quit smoking or any other method that suits you. Your body and your loved ones will thank you for it.

The ones that don’t are still effective, they just weren’t – for you. A typical smoker interested in quitting usually has to go through three or four attempts before finally succeeding in smoking cessation. Other people take longer and more tries to pull it off. A few kick the nasty habit on the first try, but that’s seldom the case. For those who’ve explored multiple solutions only to fail in the end, perhaps it’s time to give NLP and hypnosis a shot.

Certain Suggestions On Ways To Quit Smoking

To stop smoking hypnosis holds great potential. It utilizes the power of suggestion, which is probably why many are able to quit smoking using hypnosis plus NLP. They convince themselves it will be effective and it is.

People’s addictions can be found inside the brain. Some brains aren’t favorable for addiction development, but others offer a welcome environment for it to thrive. Some say addiction is hereditary while alcoholism isn’t. Smoking along with drinking can be passed among family members.

Open yourself up to the many possibilities of quitting smoking hypnosis. It can start working immediately. Some people opt to make an appointment with expert hypnotists who’ve enjoyed plenty of success in converting smokers into smoke-free individuals while others choose to attend seminars on the subject. You’ll usually find a few of these specialists in urban and mid-sized areas, but not so much the small towns. Ask your doctor if he can recommend anybody reliable to you in case you’re curious to try.

To quit smoking with hypnosis, you need to be willing and patient to make sure everything is done right. It’s not unusual to find people scared of the prospect of being hypnotized, but this is natural. If the idea of NLP hypnosis bothers you, you could make the experience less terrifying by bringing a loved one with you to the session. It could also be a one-on-one meeting if that’s what you prefer. Otherwise, consider attending large seminars helping people quit smoking with hypnosis.

A typical hypnosis session goes a little like this. The individual running the affair tells the smokers’ subconscious to reject smoking, the reasons why he hates it, plus what to do whenever the urge to light a stick up gets them. The brain is rewired a bit so cigarettes become disgusting and unsavory things to it, this includes the sight and smell of them. Some people who quit smoking with hypnosis managed to go a week without puffing on one. This made quitting smoking entirely easier. Most of them never even return to the habit after one or two private NLP and hypnosis sessions.

If hypnosis is not for you, you can try another method to quit smoking. The key is to stick with it and see it through to the end. However, if you’re fresh out of ideas, it might be time to explore stop smoking NLP and hypnosis as a viable alternative. Who knows? You could actually end up totally satisfied with the results. Good luck.
